AJWC Information

The Avon Junior Women's Club was founded in September, 1994 to bring together young women in Avon to work toward continuing to improve the community through charitable work and contributions. We strive to improve the cultural, civic, economic and social development of Avon. In addition, we contribute to the social, intellectual, and career growth of our members through speakers and programs.

MEETINGS

Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, August through May, at the Avon Senior Center - 36786 Detroit Rd. (next to the Avon Police Department) in Avon. Each meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. and consists of:
  • A social / refreshment period
  • A featured speaker of interest
  • The business meeting
New members are always welcome!

Board meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. and take place at individual members' homes or local establishments. Board members and committee chairpersons attend these meetings but active members are always welcome to attend!

Our bi-annual fundraiser ~ MARCH MAGIC

    • Through the generous contributions of event attendees, our members, sponsors and local merchants, our bi-annual fundrasier "March Magic" has raised over $80,000 in the past 10 years. Proceeds benefit the Avon community, Lorain County and other deserving charities in the Cleveland area. Some of our past beneficiaries have included The Karen P. Nakon Breast Cancer Foundation, The Avon Village Elementary School: Preschool/Kindergarden Special Needs Playground, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training, OASIS Animal Shelter, Junior Achievement and The Avon Junior Women's Scholarship Fund.

This magical evening in March features a silent auction, martini raffle, 50/50 raffle, fantastic food, a magician and a DJ. It is truly a special event not to be missed!
